Happy First Anniversary!
A moment to stand back and look at life,
Pleased with this first year as man and wife,
Pleased with dreams that now have come to be.
Yet these are just the first few opening measures:
For you there is a symphony in store,
In which the years will ask of you much more,
Rewarding you with rich and varied pleasures.
So may this moment sing of joy and love,
The first of many that your hearts will move.

TO THE GRADUATE WHO MAKES ME SMILE

To the graduate who makes me smile
Or melt away whenever he comes near,
The handsome one, with lovely eyes and hair,
Hearts leaning toward his sunlight all the while:
Even I, who am your friend, lean toward you,
Gripped with pride in all that you have done,
Relishing the compliments you've won,
Alight with all the ways I might reward you.
Draw your own sweet dreams. I wish you well
Upon your graduation and beyond.
And if I could, I'd wave my magic wand
That happiness for you I might compel,
Even as I think what time might tell.

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER LOVED

This is the first time I have ever loved;
Yours, the first face I can not forget.
I think you are afraid, perhaps, and moved
To wonder whether you should do this yet.
I also am afraid, and yet I know
That wonder is a thing that needs a yes;
Should you step back and let this moment go,
Both you and I will have to live with less.
Please trust my love, as I must trust in yours.
It's strong as steel, as delicate as lace,
Immovable as battered granite shores:
I feel its power and unremitting grace.
So come, my love, and try this love with me;
Let your love speak, and then you will agree.

THERE IS A LOVE SO CERTAIN

There is a love so certain
It can underwrite all fears;
A passion so enduring
It abides beneath the years;

A yearning so consuming
It's consumed by its own will
To yearn if need forever
For the one its need might still.

How beautiful the rapture
That sustains those long apart!
The joyful inner union
Of the undivided heart.

How sweet yet sad the music
That conveys such loyalty!
The devastated grace
Of the hope of love to be.

And now the mystic moment
Has arrived, and the reward
For all that time of waiting
Shall be gathered in a word.

And life with utter longing
Shall let down its golden hair
That these two faithful lovers
Find at last their pleasure there.

MOTHERS SOMETIMES FIND THEMSELVES MAROONED

Mothers sometimes find themselves marooned
On islands in an unfrequented sea.
The burden is too great to bear alone,
However much one loves, the mind too free.
Each must struggle not to be consumed,
Returning need for need voraciously,
Souls left to survive all on their own.

MOSTLY, I WOULD LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED

Mostly, I would like to be remembered
As someone who was passionate for life.
The days of unsought ecstasies are numbered,
However long we linger in the light.
I was one who cultivated wonder,
Less of one contented to explain,
Delighted by the promises of hunger,
Enduring for their joy the years of pain.
Gifts I had aplenty: Some I savored,
Others sacrificed for others' needs.
Remember me as someone who was favored,
Despite constraints, to tumble in the leads,
Ocean to what winds I could not be,
Nightrider through what worlds I could not see.

AFTER YOU'RE GONE

After you're gone
How will I go to work?
Who will I phone
To talk through the silent evening
After you're gone?

You're part of my life,
A piece of my tapestry.
On what rock
Will my castle rest
After you're gone?

Time will turn
But without hands.
How will I eat
Without my day on your dish
After you're gone?

You're the only place
I can put myself.
No hopes or dreams
Can fill my tumbling days
After you're gone.

how do you wish someone a happy anniversary in french?

if bon anniversaire is happy birthday what is happy anniversary?

kacki is right, in english birthday is just for the birth, whereas anniversary can be used for weddings etc, but in french it's the same word :"anniversaire", so you can say "bon anniversaire", or "joyeux anniversaire"

PS :"anniversaire heureux" is incorrect, just a litteral translation from internet translator!
