Can your martial art studio benefit from SBA loans?

When I first began taking martial arts my Sifu taught classes out of his basement. There were only a few of us in those days and although we appreciated the personal instruction, it was difficult for him to bring in new students. Running a business of your home can be a good idea, but it's hard to take in instruction studio seriously when run out of the home. So my instructor decided he would open up his own martial art studio downtown. In order to do this however he To stop thinking of himself as an instructor and begin thinking of himself as a business owner. I discussed this possibility with him after class on several occasions and eventually we decided that he should look into obtaining SBA loans for his new business.

And before we go on, I feel it is important to explain just what the SBA is. The SBA or small business administration is a government run institution designed specifically to assist new small businesses in obtaining the funding that they need from lenders of all shapes and sizes around the world. Often, when obtaining a loan through the SBA a new business owner can receive better rates and terms and conditions for his business. In the case of my martial arts instructor the SBA was able to obtain a loan for his business and he was able to open a new studio, and take on new students and do what he loves to do full-time and quit his job. Overall, it is safe to say that the SBA loan enabled him to achieve his goals and do what he wants.

What materials will help me train to be a conditioned capoeirista in absence of a martial arts studio?

I want to be a capoeirista.....BADLY! Bad thing is, I'm currently in an area where capoeira is never heard of. How do I train myself and what materials do I need? Is a gymnasium acceptable to start?

You don't need anything but yourself and the ground. If there was more than one of you, a berimbau would be useful, and maybe drums, but since you're alone, anywhere will do.

I do recommend somewhere with soft floors though.
