Does it really matter what I use to make a ball-jointed doll?

By this I mean, does it matter if I use super sculpey or some wood chipping glue stuff that I've seen in some tutorials? Will the effects be a lot different? Is there something completely different that I should consider using?

Well...technically, most ball-joint dolls that are acknowledged as such on bjd hobby forums are made of resin, but I've heard that resin can be really tough to work with, especially if you're new to making bjd's. If you want a materials that will be recognized as "authentic" by forums like Den of Angels then you want to use resin. If you don't care about that, I would say use what you can get and that doesn't seem like it would be too frustrating for you to work with. You can always make one with resin later.
