Barbie Cooking Dress Up Games

Barbie has been a favorite toy for generations. Many children role play with Barbie and dress them up in different outfits. Creating a game with Barbie for a party can be a different way to use Barbie. Dress up cooking games with Barbie will make a memorable party for all involved.

Barbie Cake Outfits

Divide party guests into small groups. You will need enough oven-safe bowls and ingredients for cakes for the groups. Each group will make a cake and bake it in the bowl. The bowl should be deep enough so Barbie's legs will be covered when she is placed in the center of the cake. Once the cake is cooked and cooled, flip the cake over and put Barbie's legs through the center of the cake. This is now her skirt. Each group decorates its cake to look like her skirt. There are no limits to decorating but everything used must be edible. After each cake is decorated, the groups should turn a large piece of paper into an identical outfit for one of the members. The group that has the best-looking cake and paper outfit wins. If the party is for younger children, prepare the cakes in advance and let them decorate them with help.

Barbie's Cooking

On the invitation for a Barbie party, list the name of a specific version, such as Malibu Barbie. Each guest should have a different name. Ask each guest to prepare a dish of food that represents the Barbie she has been assigned and bring it to the party. The guests should also bring an outfit similar to the Barbie she was assigned. At the party, each guest will taste the other dishes and write the name of the Barbie they believe each guest was assigned, based on the food. After eating all the food, the guests will dress up as their assigned Barbie. Each guest should make one more guess about which Barbie the other guests were assigned. Guests who make two correct guesses win.

Mix and Match Barbie

Give each guest a Barbie. In the center of the table place lots of Barbie accessories and clothing. Ask the guests to select 10 items to dress their Barbies with. Each item should be given a code name for a food ingredient. For example, a Barbie purse could be 1 cup of flour, a shoe could be one egg and a dress could be lettuce. Give guests the corresponding ingredients for the items they selected. You should be the only one who knows what ingredient is related to which piece of clothing. The guests need to cook something with the ingredients they receive. Give them the option of trading five articles of clothing for five new ingredients. They could lose ingredients they enjoyed. You will need to help put things in the oven or on the stove. After creating their dish with the ingredients given, judge the food for the best tasting. For younger children, use ingredients to make sandwiches or pizzas that don't require cooking.
