Identifying Clothes Moths

The body is around a quarter of an inch in length with it's wings folded along its body. They are usually golden-yellow although from the surface look more of a brown color, especially when looked at in the dim light in which they dwell. They have a small patch of red hair on the top of their head and the eggs they lay that eventually spawn their maggot-like offspring, are usually small round eggs measuring about one twenty-fifth of an inch. It is these eggs that needs to be killed with moth repellents as soon as they are located.

It can be difficult differentiating between clothes moths and the more common moths that are often flying around homes and buildings. The clothes moths, with their wings folded in, are often only measured about a quarter of an inch in contrast to the majority of food-infesting moths which are typically double that size at half an inch. Clothes moths are quite easy to capture when they are on the ground and when examined closely you can see the tuft of hair discussed earlier, a feature that normal moths do not have. Another difference is that whilst they are capable of flying long distances, you will usually only find clothes moths fluttering around the area that the infestation is located (usually a wardrobe or storage) whereas normal moths will fly in a more direct manner often in the search of food, so to ensure comprehensive moth protection use a moth repellent on any areas you see a clothes moth around.

The case bearing clothes moths look similar to the common clothes moths but with one primary difference that helps case bearing moths stand out even more, they have several dark spots on their wings. Other than that they are very similar aesthetically although as the name suggests, case bearing clothes moths carry their silken cases around with them wherever they go which gets larger as they do.

A lot of the time clothes moths will be seen on the floor or carpet and if you attempted to capture them, it is likely it would try to run or jump away rather than flying off particularly when confronted with moth repellents such as moth balls and lavender. Despite the strength of their flying, it is not their instinctive response - another trait that sets them apart from their other flying insect cousins but that makes moth protection an easier task.

Would anybody know where to buy or find free doll and teddy bear clothes?

I either would love to try sewing these by hand....or finding a cheap outlet or store that sells small dollclothing..and medium to large T. bear clothes..would you know of either yardage stores that might sell patterns still, or places that would sell to a person,,if they don't want to make the bear or buy a bear? or doll, for that matter?
If so, please help me!

Go to a second hand store like the Salvation Army. they have infant and Baby clothes that are very inexpensive.
