• The cakes need to be baked few days in advance before the birthday party. All the layers of cakes should be packed together in separate plastic coverings. These layers of cakes need to be kept in the refrigerator.
• Just one day ahead of the birthday party, the refrigerated cake layers should be frosted.
• The decoration for cakes is done with candy. Icing the cake makes it look even better. Placing small toys on the cake and later on using them as gifts adds to the fun in birthday parties.

Cupcakes are a good addition to regular cakes served at birthday parties for kids. These cakes can be baked in ice-cream cones. The ingredients required to make these cupcakes are cake mix batter (enough to fill 1/3rd of every cone), chocolate frosting (16 oz.), sprinkles, decors and other decorations. The procedure of how to make 24 cupcake cones is provided below.

• The oven should first be preheated to a temperature of 350°F.
• All the 24 cones should be placed over non-greased cookie sheets after filling them with cake batter.
• Baking should be done for 20-25 minutes. A wire rack needs to be used for cooling these cones. The cones should then be decorated with frosting and necessary decorations.
