On school nights, my 5 year old goes to bed at 8:00. He starts to get ready around 7:30. If it's not a school night, we're a little more lenient and it may be 10 before he's in bed.

Edit: As far as how long it takes him to go to sleep...generally around 10 minutes. He's pretty tired after being at school all day.
