are you in your 50's or 60's? please help me with nostalgia?

My mother will be turning 60 in about a week. I would like to put together a magazine type book with memorabilia photos and nostalgia for her. She was born in 1949 in PA and was raised in MA. Do any of you have anything that stands out as your favorite thing from any decade. I know she loved her betsy wetsy as a child but I need so many ideas. She was a preppy girl in the 50'and some of 60's then she was a rock and roll girl the rest of her life through the 80's and 90's. What do you remember the most as far as t.v. shows, music, the news. I am doing research online but am hoping the help straight from people will be more beneficial.

Beatles....without question. I was born in 56. Even though your mom is a bit older than me.....she probably dug the Monkees tv show and Laugh-in tv show. Also the Batman tv show. Your mom would have been the perfect age for Woodstock. You could rent the movie. And of course the first moon landind (July, 1969). Big time excitement all over the world. Down side--- Vietnam. She probably knew someone involved in it. Also the Kent State shootings in 70. Campus unrest. Civil rights marches. "Ban the bomb." The MLK and Bobbie Kennedy assasinations. JFK as well as far as that goes (63). Watergate. That was just a big drag. Pre-empted a lot of regular tv. Haha. That shows you how much I was (not) into politics. There were a lot of cool movies. Type in "hit movies...70s" or something like that. "2001" came out in 68 I believe and blew everyones mind. "Easy Rider" came out about the same time. And "MASH." This was the end of the studio system and the rise of the independent film makers. Supposedly the movies carried more of a social reform message. Plus increased tolerance of nudity and openness about sexuality.
