Lose Weight through Home Cooked Meals

Fast food and instant foods are everywhere.  Our health and weight are put on the losing end.  These foods are usually made up of fatty, high calorie ingredients that are harmful to the body.  Even though these kinds of foods spell convenience, we should never sacrifice our body's well-being for this.

Home prepared meals have been around since time immemorial.  But with the time and effort that goes into preparing a meal, many people opt to forego this choice.  But nothing compares to healthy eating that can only come with preparing your own meals, like salads, seafood bisques, pasta, etc.  Food that's healthy doesn't have to be tasteless and devoid of ambiance.  Because you're preparing the dish yourself, you know exactly what goes into dish and you can include little things like spices, cheese and pieces of fruit to spruce it up.  It's relatively easy to become healthy inside and out, and the preparation of meals can also be exciting because the whole family can pitch in.

The benefits that you can get when you cook for yourself are innumerable.  You get to feed more people with the same amount of money you spend for one person when eating out.  Upon weighing the options, paying for an overpriced unhealthy meal isn't exactly a good choice.  You also stock your body up with nutrients like manganese, vitamin K and vitamin C.  Nutrients like dietary fiber, calcium, potassium, iron, folate, protein, magnesium, thiamin, niacin, and vitamin A can also be found in the many vegetables that you can put into your home prepared meal.  Your little one could wash the vegetables and your teenager could chop the fruits up. Cooking your own meal fosters family life too.  Conversations and stories about everyone's day add flare to the cooking.  And once everything is cooked, serve it all with an artistic touch.

Is there any way to soften up a body of clay that's already been underglazed?

I'm making a sgraffido (scratch-away) bowl for a ceramics class but it's dried out very much, although I'm sure not bisque, even though I've wrapped it thoroughly. I've already scratched away about 2/5 of the design, and I'm not remaking the bowl. Is there any way to put the moisture back into the bowl without messing up the sgraffido designs? I was thinking something with a humidifier...?

To answer a question - it has not been fired yet, I think I might have mixed up my terminology. Basically I made the bowl, it got to about leather-hard, and then I put a layer of underglaze over it. From what my instructor said, underglaze can be applied before firing, and it's absolutely necessary for the clay to be a bit moist if I want to scratch away at the color - the clay MUST have some give. Otherwise, as I was just experiencing, it just chips.
