how do i get pickle juice smell out of my book bag?

I had a pickle in my book bag in a plastic bag. I guess the bag had a whole in it. And the pickle juice got everywhere in my bookbag pocket. It smells like pickles which i dont want. Please help save my bookbag. Thanks

After you wash down bag some, go out and get a couple of the FRIDGE-IT activated carbon odor absorbers - little purple cube - not the imitations. costs around $3 dollars each and put a couple in bag. Totally unscented so it actually eliminates odor rather than covering up with some nasty fragrance.
