What are Momiji dolls?

Momiji dolls are a form of creative Japanese kokeshi doll.  They are hand-made and painted and bring friendship and joy into your life. Due to being individually made, no two are exactly the same.  However they all share similar traits. Momiji dolls, being Kokeshi, have no arms or legs and are made from wood. Momiji dolls however are a bit different from all other Kokeshi.

How are Momiji dolls different from Kokeshi dolls?

When you buy Momiji dolls you will find the base of the doll has a hidey hole in it. Inside this you will find a small card. This small card tells about the doll's likes and has her name and something she likes to say too. The sayings are all topics based upon good will, love and friendship in some way.  Also all Momiji dolls are girls. For instance Luca from the Itchy Feet collection likes her headphones, bubble cars and stripes and “her feet and the beats take Luca merrily through the streets.”

Momiji dolls are born into collections. The collections called The Randoms were the first ones made and came in a set of twelve. The original Randoms have been discontinued but they are (at the time of this writing) into the Sixth generation. You can also buy Momiji dolls in the Love collection, Celebration collection and Christmas collection.

Are the accessories?

Yes you can buy Momiji dolls accessories for you and them. The accessories are called zakka. An example of a zakka can be a coffee cup for you, a t- shirt or even a makeup bag all in the Momiji doll pattern.  Pencils, pens, greeting cards and even luggage tags are all on offer in the zakka category.

how do you get the baby born doll to work?

my daughter got the new baby born for christmas the one that is ment to poo and wee but we threw away the box and cant seem to figure out how it works it doesnt have anywhere for batteries. just wondering if anyone else has one that could help. thanks.
