Perks to Pre Order Cataclysm Collectors Edition - Some Things You Might Consider

If you are thinking you plan to pre order Cataclysm collectors edition, you've made a good choice. Cataclysm fans will rejoice at the great perks that come with the collector's edition, such as Lil' Deathwing, a mouse pad from Cataclysm, and of course the soundtrack. There is also a dvd that shows you the whole making of Cataclysm and in depth commentary from the designers. Of course you also get the full WoW expansion set with the Cataclysm CDs/DVDs.

Depending on just how serious you are about WoW, the Collectors edition might just be for you. Note that Amazon and other retailers of the game are getting low on copies fast so you might have to settle for the standard edition, or just go ahead and pre order cataclysm collectors edition as soon as you can.  You might have to wait until the next shipment comes in; I found when ordering mine that I had to actually just get the standard edition, but will probably get the collectors edition when it is in stock again.

Amazon has custom alerts so you can get them to tell you when you can order the cataclysm collectors edition. You can also check ebay and other online retailers to see if you can get a copy somewhere else.

There's one really neat part of the cataclysm collectors edition: the art book.  This has 176 pages of original artwork from the different stages of the Blizzard Film Dept's work. You get to see full progress on how each step of artwork was developed from start to finish for the Cataclysm expansion.

One other little perk: If you play Starcraft II, you will get custom avatars for the Cataclysm expansion - goblins and worgen.  It's pretty neat to be able to play SC2 with a worgen marine avatar, after all.

You will also get the WoW trading card game which has original goblin and worgen cards that you can't get anywhere else - and you get a full 60 card deck. Or if you are just collecting the cards, this pack gives you a good way to get started, and it gives you the goblin and worgen cards that aren't available elsewhere, at least not easily.

The collector's edition is just the same old game, just with a special case and some behind-the-scenes stuff. The game of the year edition includes the original game, a somewhat unique case, and Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles addons. It's like two games in one. The game of the year edition is much better in my opinion.
