Country Clothing Company Goes Bespoke

Mears Country Jackets has put more than 100 years’ of experience into a new venture - creating tailor-made coats for country and town wear.

The company has launched Mears Bespoke, which creates country clothing including hunt coats, hacking jackets and showing jackets – hand cut and individually tailored - with a variety of distinguishing features to personalise each garment.

Clients are offered a choice of cloth, different lining materials and even individual items such as the name of the wearer and the date the coat was completed embroidered into the inside pocket.

Hunt coats are offered with features including individual hunt collars and hunt buttons, a choice of linings, wind cuffs and a waterproof membrane.

Synonymous with stylish and elegant country wear, Mears Country Jackets have long been recognised throughout the world for their quality and functionality. The company is official supplier of coats to Team GB.

Lynne Mears, of Mears Country Jackets, which is based in Walsall in the West Midlands, said: “We’ve made the move into the bespoke market because more and more people have approached us wanting to invest in a coat that offers a perfect fit, coupled with personal touches that create a true sense of individualism.

“Clients are offered a tour of the factory to see firsthand the processes involved in making the coat.

“Measurements are then taken before a consultation is held between ourselves and the client to establish the exact needs of the rider, their favourite styles, cut, length, fabrics and linings.

“The end result is a craftsman made coat that is exclusive to the rider.”

As well as hunt coats and hacking jackets, Mears has a range of designs for riders and countryside enthusiasts of all ages. The company’s products are stocked in saddlers and country stores across the UK.
