When will WWE realize that People will pay to see Strong, Powerful, Females?

instead of The Barbie Dolls (Like Kelly Kelly and Maryse) that WWE promotes as Strong and Powerful? The only really strong one left in WWE is Beth Phoenix, and Gail Kim is pretty good too, but WWE doesn't use her right? When will WWE realize their is an audience who wants to see some really good Women's wrestling instead of what WWE is providing the Audience?

If the WWE put some real effort into creating, as you said, "strong, powerful female" wrestlers, I would be more than happy with that.

Let's be clear here; I have NO problem with the Divas being attractive. I don't think it's any secret that people like looking at Kelly Kelly and Maryse. However, like you said, we've reached a point now where they are de facto "barbie dolls". Virtually all the angles and programs involving the female wrestlers center around Michelle McCool and Layla acting like 12-year old girls towards a lower card face diva, and then that said diva will get rescued by one of the more prolific ones, like Beth Phoenix or Mickie James (when she was still around). That's why, despite pretty much all the divas being extremely hot women, I tend to hit the fast-forward button on the vast majority of their segments. I like Michelle a lot, but having here come out and wail about how the other divas are "fat" or "ugly" or "a man" is just degrading. It's the type of programming that appeals to no one except the lowest common denominator, and I get zero entertainment value out of it.

That brings me back to the comment you had about strong and powerful divas. Look throughout mainstream T.V. and moves right now. Who are the most popular female characters. On the show LOST, it's Kate Austin, who other than being just gorgeous is one of the main heroes of the show. In the movie Transformers, this whole country (including me) fell in love with Megan Fox not just because she's a 15 on the 10 scale but because she kicked a whole lot of ass in the process. The same goes for Olivia Wilde, who plays Doctor 13 on the T.V. show House. All three of them are beautiful yes, but they're also smart and leaders of the shows they star in. Is it really so difficult to follow a similar path with the divas in the WWE? They sort of tried with Mickie James before her release, but it was a half-hearted effort at best and they eventually pulled the plug on it by shoving her back into those juvenile story lines with Michelle and Layla.
