what is a good thing for the main person in my book to go threw?

in my book there's this girl called Ella Judy Well, every one calls her Ellaween the vampire queen because she loved vampire books,when she was little she saw that thing on youtube making fun of teh Crissy doll being a girl's soul in a doll and was scared and kept hers colse at all time, her dad beat her and her motehr and went to jail, she had turrets, and is on the brink of loosing her job as a reporter, and i wnat soemthign to happen to her because of all of this mixed together but i can't think of anything

So all this weird/bad stuff is happening to her, where's the turn of events? Maybe all these children start to go missing, and the kidnapper always leaves a doll behind in their place, and so she sees this as an opportunity to save her job, yet things get pretty creepy with these dolls, and it's even worse for her because she has developed a type of phobia of dolls.

And to link her being abused as a child, maybe the most recent missing child comes from either 1) A broken, poor home and she feels like she has to help dig up more clues not just to save her job, but because she sees herself in this child and wants to do something good for her. OR 2) The child comes from a wealthy and loving family, and she doesn't want the child to be broken the way she was as a child and so she wants to help find her as quickly as possible.
