How do I go about finding more information on RAG DOLL kittens?

Id like to know a bit more about these cats and every thing from average prices (for pet purposes not show or breeding) to temperaments.
majority of the sites I have looked at talk about breeders, I'm not sure if I need to start with the local vet or contact the breeders directly

I have 4 Ragdoll cats. They are soooo awesome. They are sweet and loving and very docile. Not lap cats, but very much love to be with people. They are smart and very easy to train. Most breeder websites will say that they don't shed alot...well...they do, but if combed on a regular basis, their fur will not mat. Start combing them when they are young and they will love it. As far as finding one, the least expensive may not be the best. You should expect to pay from $600 - $800 (maybe more) One of the most important things to look for in a Ragdoll breeder is to find one that DNA tests their breeding cats for HCM. HCM is a heart problem, that affects certain cat breeds, Ragdoll being one of them. I won't go into it exactly, but you should definitely research on google. Don't be afraid to ask the breeder if they test for it. If they don't...keep looking!! Good luck. P.S. If you can afford to get 2, Do It!!!!!! Oh, and you should contact the breeders directly. They may have an adoption form or questionnaire for you to fill out.
