Pre-Menopause: What Does It Mean?

Pre-menopause means that a woman’s life as she knows it is just beginning again. Enter the hot flashes, cold sweats and the occasional mood swings, but it also means that soon tampons and sanitary napkins will be items of the past; what woman wouldn’t be thrilled about that? I have never been fond of sanitary napkins and tampons so I can’t wait for the day when I can save my money and no longer have to purchase them.

How Will I Know?

You will know when you are pre-menopausal when your body starts producing less of the estrogen, progesterone and testosterone hormones. It is the time period in which a woman goes from having a normal menstrual period to having none at all. This transition can take anywhere from five to ten years.

Signs and Symptoms

Before the age of forty, it might not be as easy to identify some of the signs and symptoms of pre-menopause. It is also important for you to know that just because your body may display signs and symptoms that appear to be associated with pre-menopause before the age of forty, this does not mean that you are going through pre-menopause. Every woman’s body is different and this is why sometimes one woman call have all of the pre-menopausal symptoms while another woman can have none.

The hot flash is considered the most prominent sign or symptom of pre-menopause. Have you ever seen a woman start sweating and patting her body all over with a tissue? Well, I have. When I was a young child attending church I was around older women all of the time. They were probably in their fifties and sixties and one minute they would be all dolled in their Sunday’s best and the next minute they would be down to a blouse and a skirt minus the hat. It would be too funny but as I got older I understood that they were going through “the change.”

Hot flashes can happen at any time and they can begin as a warm feeling and escalate to a full blown body sweat within a matter of minutes. I have interviewed many women who believe that these flashes are not only the most uncomfortable feeling that they have ever experienced but it is also an unbearable one. Hot flashes can wake you out of your sleep. The good news ladies is that hot flashes will not stay around forever. As you are making the transition from pre-menopause to menopause, your hot flashes should diminish.

Irregularity In Your Period

As a woman, we often miss periods or get multiple periods within the same month due to a number of factors but this irregularity relating to menopause is much different in that you experience either really close together periods. You can also get some spotting in between the periods. If you are someone who is used to having a really light period, you may get a really heavy period instead and it may last a lot longer or for an even shorter amount of time than usual.

Can you buy pre-made BJD?

I want an Asian Ball Jointed Doll but I can't find any that are already made and painted, I don't want to make it myself or paint it. Does anyone have sites to wear you can buy pre-made dolls?
I don't want it to be one with connected hair, I want it to be able to wear a wig.
Can some one tell me the size of these? I like them a lot but I don't know

What sizes are those two? are there any other info you can give me on them? First - about the photos you asked about.
Your first photo link is Elfdoll Min Del Re, one of their limited re-release tiny Elfdolls, 14cm = 5.5 inches. I think you can only get her used since they were limited and re-released over a year ago.

One used one here but it's the original Min Del Re whose face painting is a bit grumpier. Note - tiny Elfdolls don't pose very well unless you also slip some thin pipe cleaners in with the stringing but were lovely.

As for your 2nd photo link - Hard to tell but it looks to me like it might be a 42cm Narindolls Narae (Dollfair.com), possibly a Narae Classic mold in pinky-white or white French Resin though it could be urethane resin. So this is a MUCH different size if I am correct - about 42cm = about 16.5 inches (she is what we call a 1/4 BJD ie. 1/4 human size and because she is mini/msd height and slim and mature we call them slim minis.

It's not that easy to identifiy BJDs. You just happened to pick two I have owned for years.

Your third photo link - I think that might be a 1/3 size BJD or about 54cm-64cm. I do not recognize it. Sorry. There are lots of 1/3 boys that look similar. It might possibly be a Dream of Doll DOT Homme Ducan or the other Homme, or a Dollzone or a Luts (eluts.com). Really hard to tell.

Most BJDs are sold two ways - complete BJD doll with no clothing, no wig, no eyes, no face painting OR you can order one with face painting or add the face painting (aka faceup or makeup) and then the additional faceup price will usually also include a random wig and random eyes.

Sometimes a BJD company offers a expensive limited edition complete set aka fullset which will include everything and you get a fully dressed/wigged/shoed/eyed doll with face paint but fullsets like that usually cost hundreds more than the basic BJD.

If you are in the US I recommend you first check the BJDs sold by these US resellers because you will usually get the BJD faster and shipping will be less expensive. These resellers each carry several of the less-expensive brands of BJD and some may have faceups. If you instead buy direct from an Asian company, your BJD could take 1-2 months to arrive and cost $40-50 or more in shipping.

Note - when you are looking at these places... Obitsus are not resin, not BJDs. Goodreau, Creedy, Delilah Noir are American-style not Asian, and are not allowed for discussion on Den of Angels, the largest BJD forum. And the BJD "Mini Riz" is actually a tiny, not a mini.

Note - most BJD makers also sell parts so stay out of their parts section and just look at full BJDs. And read the descriptions carefully - it should say what you get. Also pay attention to the size of the BJD. Some are tinies and if you want a 1/4 (mini msd 40-47cm) or 1/3 (sd, 54-64cm) make sure that is what you are buying.
