Posable wire for a doll/stuffed animal..help please!?

I'm trying to find out what kind of wire to use in a stuffed animal project I'm doing. It would be used for wings, and I need something that is strong enough to support the weight (the wings really aren't that heavy to begin with) but also durable yet flexible. Is there any specific type someone can recommend? And where would someone find something like this? (I looked around at the local Joann Fabrics and couldn't find anything). Thanks!!

A copper wire would work. I would say craft store, but failing that, check online. I guess they don't think there is use for thicker wire. Just don't get it too thick and hard to bend
