Desperate for a baby?

I am longing to have a baby- and am pretty stable as it is. I own my own home, have a nice car, a good job that is flexible for new parents (whereby i can work from home)- the only thing that isnt 100% stable is my relationship. I have been with my partner for 12 months, and although i love him i am not 100% sure if he's father-worthy. Does that make sense? He is 35 and still kinda acts like a kid.. however i am at the point where i wouldnt mind raising this child myself if need be (although i know for a fact he would still be part of the child's life). What are everyone's thoughts on this. Am i waiting for someone who doesnt exist to come along and have the "fairytale" with-- or is there no such thing? Do you know for sure that this is the person you want to have children with, or do you just go with it and hope it all works out for the best?

First of all going on what you told us, you are settling for less than you know you deserve by remaining with this man. If you have any doubts please follow your gut and leave him. You are seriously lowering any chance you have of finding the right guy, by being seen/associated with him. Are you one of those people that just stay put hoping for something better to come along, so you can hop off and right onto the next train??? Well there needs to be you time in-between. A time to reflect and learn what went wrong and what you will/will not accept from the next relationship. Otherwise you don't "grow" emotionally and you constantly fall for the same type of guy over and over.

I understand the desire to want a baby at this stage in your life completly, but I would advise you to relax and enjoy singlehood for a few more years first. And get to know you. You have plenty of years left to choose to have a baby on your own. I would wait until 35, and if you havent met anyone worthy by then you may want to revisit the idea of being a single mom. Believe me there is no shortage of men that are willing to knock you up and walk away, so just let go of the one your with for now. And the guy for you really does exist, I know because I found my perfect match at 29 and married him at 30. We have 4 kids.
