Binaural Entrainment Audios – Handle Your Bad Dreams Safely

Dreams are true reflection of your subconscious mind. They may not reflect what we call "reality" but they are certainly a reality of life. Dreams are absolutely real when we dreaming them. Otherwise why would you get up terrified when confronted with a nightmare. You suddenly wake up to realize that it was just a dream; yet you could not avoid the terror and trauma! First of all, know that all your distinct mental states are associated with unique brainwave patterns. For instance, if you are relaxed you have a certain brainwave pattern that will be different from the brainwave pattern when you are stressed or worried. When you are fast asleep your brain generates some low frequency waves that are different from the brainwaves when you are dreaming.

While dreaming your brain is dominated by the theta brainwaves that have frequencies in the range, 4-7 Hz; and when you are fast asleep your brain is emitting delta waves (0.5-4 Hz). In the normal active and waking state your brain is dominated by alpha waves (7-13 Hz).

In order to influence dreams you need to develop kind of "wakeful awareness" whenever you are dreaming, so that you consciously know what is happening. There are various ways to develop this awareness but here we shall focus on how this is achieved in a short period using the brainwave entrainment recordings.

The entrainment audios designed for lucid dreaming have sequence of frequencies that repeatedly sample the wakeful alpha state and the theta waves of REM phase of sleep where you dream. Thus you can dream but at the same time you are mentally awake, and hence in a unique position to consciously interfere in the act of dreaming. How Binaural Entrainment Works

When two slightly different (within 30 Hz) sound frequencies are fed through stereo headphones, one to each ear, the brain perceives pulsations – called binaural beats – at a frequency equal to the difference between the two frequencies. After the binaural beats are created, the existing brainwave pattern shifts to match its frequency with the frequency of the induced beats. This is known as the frequency following response or entrainment.

This phenomenon of entrainment offers you a great facility – you change the induced frequency and the brainwave frequencies would follow it. Now you have a simple way to induce any desired brainwave frequency, and hence any mental state associated with it.
