Is it stupid to wear a pinup girl dress to prom ?

I really want to wear a black lolita wiggle dress to prom that they have on unique-vintage.com. I just don't want to look stupid. There are alot of dresses on there I would wear so any suggestions would be taken into consideration.

The prom theme is "Classic America".
I just don't know if it would be stupid because that is the theme and I want to go with the pinup girl look.
