I have some uncertainties in going in to an Anne Of Green Gables Audition?

Hello everyone. I've been acting for about 10 years and have been in various productions around my city and with schools.

This year's musical is Anne of Green Gables.
Now, I reaaaaally wanna be Anne, but I'm 5'11.
Would that be a problem? Is there anything I can do to ensure that I won't have a disadvantage because of my height? What can I do to help my situation?

Another note; anyone have a link to where I can watch the musical online? Thanks.

I was in the play version of Anne of Green Gables in high school. Our Anne was 5"8'. The fact that you are 5"11' should NOT matter.

Anne's physical description does not specify a height. Now, what Anne SHOULD be is thin, have red hair and freckles and a youthful face. Obviously, red hair can be achieved with a wig or dye (Our Anne was a brunette). So the only physical trait she must have that must be natural is her build

I saw the musical version last year and in my opinion, it is not a great musical. The script is okay but the music is pretty flat and ordinary. For your music audition you definitely need to be able to show the spirit and liveliness of Anne, which will hopefully give the directors the idea that you can liven up a poor script.

One thing I do not suggest is that you do NOT dye your hair red for the audition. If you already have red hair, great. If not, do not dye your hair red. What that will do is tell the directors that you expect the part.

My favorite character in the story is Diana. She is also a very large role. Keep her in mind as well. If you are a diverse actress, either role would be a good challenge and a lot of fun.
