Creating a book (handmade binding) for a fashion portfolio?

I am in the process of planning my portfolio to get into a design school.

I have chosen FIDM and Academy of art for my choices ,a long with a few others.

Well my question is, instead of buying a traditional portfolio book to put my designs in, would it be a good idea to make my own portfolio book?

I have made quite a few books because I know how to bind, so my books look professional.
Should I try this or should I forget about?

I think it's so cool that you're taking that extra step to create your own portfolio book! If you know how to make your own books, do it! You had mentioned applying to FIDM and that's so exciting! I don't see why you couldn't display your entrance project in the book as long as it fulfills the measurement requirements for the pages.

FIDM overall is a great fashion college and I'm sure you won't have a problem getting accepted
