Approved kampo medicines

Today in Japan, Kampo is integrated into the national health care system. In 1967, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare approved four kampo medicines for reimbursement under the National Health Insurance (NHI) program. In 1976, 82 kampo medicines were approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Currently, 148 kampo medicines are approved for reimbursement.

Rather than modifying formulae as in Traditional Chinese medicine, the Japanese kampo tradition uses fixed combinations of herbs in standardized proportions according to the classical literature of Chinese medicine. Kampo medicines are produced by various manufacturers. However, each medicine is composed of exactly the same ingredients under the Ministry's standardization methodology. The medicines are therefore prepared under strict manufacturing conditions that rival pharmaceutical companies. Extensive modern scientific research in Japan has validated the effectiveness of kampo medicines.[citation needed] In October 2000, a nationwide study reported that 72% of registered physicians prescribe kampo medicines.

Regulations, and therefore safety is much stronger and tighter for Japanese Kampo than Chinese traditional medicine due to strict enforcement of laws and standardization.

Herbs used in kampo medicines

The 14th edition of the Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP) ( Nihon yakkyokuh) lists 165 herbal ingredients that are used in kampo medicines.[broken]

Lots of the Kampo product are routinely tested for heavy metals, purity, and microbial content to eliminate any contaminant. Kampo medicines are tested for the levels of key chemical constituents as markers for quality control on every formula. This is carried out from the blending of the raw herbs to the end product according to the Ministry pharmaceutical standards.

Medicinal mushrooms like Reishi and Shiitake are herbal products with a long history of use. In Japan, the Agaricus blazei mushroom is a highly popular herb, which is used by close to 500,000 people. In Japan, Agaricus blazei is also the most popular herb used by cancer patients. The second most used herb, is an isolate from the Shiitake mushroom, known as Active Hexose Correlated Compound.

Kampo outside Japan

In the United States, kampo is practiced mostly by acupuncturists, Chinese medicine practitioners, naturopath physicians, and other alternative medicine professionals. The only available brand of the products in the US is under Honso distributed by Honso USA, Inc. out of Phoenix, Arizona. In year 2002, Honso USA revealed its professional Kampo herbal formulas to licensed healthcare professionals in the US. These products have been used by Japanese physicians under prescription for many decades. Kampo herbal formulae are studied under clinical trials, such as the clinical study of Honso Sho-saiko-to (H09) for treatment of hepatitis C at New York Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and liver cirrhosis caused by hepatitis C at UCSD Liver Center. Both clinical trials are sponsored by Honso USA, Inc., a branch of Honso Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Nagoya, Japan.

The Kampo herbal combination Sho-saiko-to (SST) has been used extensively in China and Japan to treat chronic liver disease and other inflammatory diseases. Over 200 research papers has demonstrated SST's therapeutic roles of anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, and chemopreventive properties that both pre-clinical and clinical research suggest are effective for various forms of liver diseases, including chronic hepatitis.

Is there memory of USA Citezen after death?

Is there memory of USA Citezen after death or citizen only when he or she alive and after death everybody forget about him and dont care?
I just wanted to find human who die 26 years ago...I know his name i know place of his death.But in high tech USA of 21 cntry , no information about US citezens. (I don talk about immigrants)
His name G .Barlow he has dead in airplane crash Pan American airlines flight 759 in 9 july 1982 .Please contact me with your mail for my able to answer or ask.

Usually the family members see to the burial of their loved ones remains and "memorials" (gravestone, headstone, plaques, obituaries in newspapers) There reason you can't find anything is you do not have enough information to find his/her "memorial" and this was back in 1982, before the 21st century and "high tech" as you know it.

You say you have his name ....you only have an initial and a last name and how do you know that G. Barlow is a male?. The website you link states he/she was from Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX. Well then it is a good chance he/she was in the Air Force, a U.S. Military branch of service. So that would mean it was highly probable he/she was not born in Texas, nor were his/her family that were given his/her remains for burial, so there are 52 states he/she could have his/her "memorial" in. Since it was back in 1982 before the public use of the internet and private home pc's that means his/her obituary will not be in a newspaper's electronic database, to be found online; nor will the cemetery he/she is interned have it's listing of burials online. Again you don't have his/her first or full name, place of birth or place his/her family was living, whether he/she was single, married, race, age or sex and with his/her death in 1982, no wonder you can not find anything online as an "memorial".
The family must have opted to bury him/her in a private cemetery as there is no person named Barlow who died July 1982 buried in a Veteran's Cemetery.
The fact that they died in the state of Louisiana in a plane crash as the plane was leaving the state of Louisana will not help you find their "memorial". There is a church in the community that has a memorial about the crash only. Again those who died, their families will be responible for any individual memorials/burials in the cemetery of their chioce, in the country, state, county, parrish, church, or city of their choice. Or the family could have a loved ones remains creamated and in an urn sitting on a table with a private shrine/memorial in the privacy of their home, or scattered at a favorite place.

I would suggest you go to this website and respectfully request a look up in a local paper of any newpaper article or obituary about a G. Barlow who was at Randolph AFB and died in the July 9th 1982 plane crach in Louisana. State why you are reqesting this infomation.
There are people from the area that may take the time to go a library and sort though the back paper issues of local newspapers and send you or transcribe for you what you seek.
