At first, New York doesn’t sound like a great place to spend your vacation on especially when you are taking your children with you. However, you will see that New York is the perfect place to take your kids to whenever you go on a vacation as it will be able to provide them with plenty of fun things to do and see.

For starters, you may want to take the entire family on a sight seeing tour around the famous New York City. You will be able to let your kids experience the life in the big city and there are also plenty of great sights to see around New York City. You can take your kids to see the Statue of Liberty and even take the entire family for a walk in Central Park. And, you can be sure that it will be a great learning experience for them as well as let your children have lots of fun.

The Wildlife Center in Central park features more than 1400 animals and 130 different species, which will keep your kids interested. Here, they will be able to have lots of fun and experience seeing unusual animals.

If you are traveling with older kids and they are in to tennis, then you will definitely love New York. You have to consider that New York City is where the last tennis grand slam tournament of the year is held, which is the US Open. Your kids will surely love the mini-festival atmosphere in the Flushing Meadows, and they will also be able to have a chance to meet their idols and other top tennis players in the world, such as Ana Ivanovic, Venus and Serena Williams, Andy Roddick, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, and Fernando Verdasco.

You will also be able to have a chance to meet tennis legends, particularly John McEnroe as he usually attends grand slam events. If you want to take your kids to watch the US Open, make sure that you go there between mid August and early September as these are the months when the tournament starts. Also, you may want to reserve tickets early on as this is a very popular event that people from all over the world attends.

If your family is ever in Manhattan, then you will surely want to visit FAO Schwartz, which is a legendary toy store. Your kids will think that they have gone straight to heaven when they enter the store as they will see numerous toys on display floor after floor, demonstrations as well as experience some of the world's most unusual toys.

You can also take your kids to the American Museum of Natural History or to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where they will be able to have fun and at the same time, learn a lot of cool things.
