Is it illegal to own an alligator in Wisconsin?

I'm from Wisconsin and I'm taking a vacation to Florida and we went to the Everglades, Disney, and a miniature golf place and they all had alligators and they are really cool and I got the idea of maybe having a pet alligator in the future and I was just wondering is it legal to have a pet alligator in Wisconsin? Do you need a permit? Are there conditions? Please help. Thanks!

Ignore the previous answers since they are incorrect. It is perfectly legal to own an American alligator in Wisconsin and no permit is required. However, most cities in Wisconsin have ordinances against them, so you need to check your city's animal ordinances. And I'm sure that I don't need to tell you that they get very large and are for only very experienced reptile keepers.
