Some soft baby carriers could be adjusted from carrying the newborn facing inward, when newborn to facing outward and even to be carried in the back once they're just a little older and need to see the world.  Soft baby carriers are probably the most versatile variety and simply adapt to your very need.  Additionally they fold flat when not in use and don't take up as much space for storing as a framed toddler carrier.  They're light weight too, which then doesn't add to the overall package.

What baby carrier do you prefer?

We just had our third son and I need a baby carrier to help tote our newborn around. I would like something that will be comfortable for both me and my son. I have looked at the babybjorn and the jeep version. Any thoughts on either those two carriers or other options would be great!

I liked my wrap better than the baby carrier I had. The wrap was good for distributing the weight more evenly and there were so many different positions you can use it in. I used to carry my daughter in it when she weighed 20 pounds and had no trouble with back pains from it.
