Changing Glasgow street lights from Orange to White?

Anyone else noticed this? Why are they doing it? All the street lights used to be orange now I see more and more white lights.

Orange lights were sodium vapor. While cost efficient the light they cast was unflattering and annoying. The new white lights are just as efficient and use newer technology.
