How did the British press change their ways following Princess Diana's death?

In an essay I'm writing, I'm trying to explain how the British press vowed to change the way they pursue and investigate following the death of Princess Diana. They made changes, but of course they didn't last. Can anyone give any specifics as to how they changed?

The only way they changed that I can recall was that following her death, they stopped calling Diana an unfit mother, royal parasite and self serving strumpet... and overnight turned her into the crowning glory of the nation.

The entire media hunted her for months, then used her as a weapon to beat the royal establishment with the second she died.

Apart from that... they have carried on as usual ever since.
