how to make a dog bed out of pvc pipe and outdoor fabric?

I was looking on ebay for an outdoor dog bed and stumbled upon one that looked like it was just made out of pvc pipe and outdoor fabric. Since times are hard and i don't have 70 bucks to throw down for something like that i was hoping someone crafty could just give me some ideas. the only thing i can't figure out is how to best connect the fabric to the pvc. i couldn't tell from the picture how they did it. thank you so much and have a wonderful day.

I can think of a couple of easy ways to connect the fabric to pvc pipe, assuming you are talking about the pvc pipe being used as a 'framework'.

1) Create a channel in the fabric to slide the pipe through. This would be very much like using a towel, to make a small window curtain, if you've ever seen that done. Many decorative curtains, such as those found over a kitchen sink, for example, are made the same way - with the pet bed, you just need to put the channel on both ends.

2) Create 'loops' in the fabric to go over the pipe. Think belt loops, for example. These could even be made with velcro, or snaps, if you thought you wanted to glue the pvc, and still be able to remove the fabric for cleaning. These would need to be VERY strong. The channel method I mentioned above, spreads the stress on the fabric seam out farther, making it the stronger version.
