What Your Tie Can Do For You!

Men are always more difficult to shop for than women.  You can buy women jewelry, clothes, perfume, makeup, gift cards to the mall or even a day at the spa. Some people though, draw a major blank when it comes to gifts for men.  With this in mind, there is always one go-to item that you can buy for a man that is simple, yet one of the nicest gifts you can give – a tie.  Even if you are gift searching for a man who rarely needs to wear a tie, it still makes a great gift.  There are always occasions that arise that call for a tie and when that time comes, every guy is glad to have one! 

Ties come in all different designs and colors and you can wear them for so many different occasions.  Whether it's to your office job, out to a party or your daughter's voice recital, ties are a great way for men to add a little something extra to their ensemble.  You can wear a simple all-black tie to places like your job or a wedding, or you can spruce it up by wearing a patterned tie for that special event!  There is a tie for every function – you just have to search for it and be willing to show it off!

Just like women, there are certain things that men can do to help them feel a little better when they walk out of the house in the morning.  For women, it's makeup.  For a woman, adding a little bit of makeup to your face on a day that you just don't feel like your outfit is working, is a great way to boost your self-confidence and make you feel better.  Well, it's the same thing with men and ties.  Slipping on a tie, no matter what outfit you may have put together that morning, will always give you that extra kick and make you feel more confident.  Don't be afraid to add a tie to your get up – you'll be surprised at what it not only can do for your style and overall presentation, but for your self-assurance and confidence too.

What to wear for a recital?

I'm going to a harp recital. I'll be playing with a group for a large group piece, two solos, and I'm also helping with the kid's group I T.A. for. So, I want to look professional, but not too stuffy. I can't exactly wear a skirt, because you have to fit the harp between your legs to play it. What do you suggest?
BTW:
I'm 14, female
brunette (dyed), medium-long with short blunt bangs
pale skin and I have a cold, so I look kind of nasty
navy blue eyes

Well, I think the best idea would be a black dress, or something black, as that, like another user said, is the traditional attire for recitals and concerts. So, maybe a black dress, or dark dress pants and a dark blouse if you don't own a black dress.
