Why is the Samantha American Girl doll being retired?

When I went to American Girl Place with my sister (a 14 year old and 21 year old jumping up and down looking at doll clothes) she not only was the most popular, but she had the most clothes, and the biggest/most attractive display. I don't understand why they're suddenly cutting her like Felicity (shame on them for THAT bs move)

then again, they did bring Felicity back with greener eyes and new clothes...do they have something better for Samantha? I have a Samantha doll, and I was planning on buying all of her clothes and items when I'm some day rich. That's not fair.

they might be as popular as once they used to be and sales are going down, so they have to cut the invintory for making the dolls for awhile until sales have gone back up.
