I have a huge LEAK somewhere in the house because all the rug is wet, WHO should I call?

The carpet in the living room is DRENCHED! like the whole wall. I can't tell if its my A/C unit, the water heater or even the townhouse next door (cause our walls touch) or if its something in the house like the shower.

Please help me! Should I call a plumber? The A/C guy? The water heater specialist? WHAT?

It could be any of those things. Maybe you should call your homeowners insurance. Call a plumber. A plumber does the hot water heater and can determine if the plumbing (shower or broken pipe) is the problem. They also work on ACs. Can you look at the hot water heater to see if it's leaking--the water would be flowing out from under it. If it's leaking, you can close the water valve to it to stop more water from coming in. It's on top of the heater and switch off the circuit breaker for the heater. Can you look at the inside part of the AC. It usually sits on a pan. If the pan is full and flooding over, then the condensation line is filled with crude and blocked and the AC tech will have to blow it out, or worse yet . . . .

If you can stand it, you might want to turn off the main valve to the water supply if you can find it. You'll probably have to call Serve Pro or some other clean up company. Once the water gets in the carpet and padding it turns into a heck of a mess and will start to smell awful and be unhealthy sooner than later. If you have a carpet steamer or a wet/dry vac, you can try to vacuum up some of the water.
