What is an ideal fit for flip flops/sandals?

Well, I was thinking of getting Sanuk flip flops. And well Size 8 and size 9 are my two biggest debates. Well size 8 was like perfect for my feet. maybe like 1 cm off my heel. and size 9 was a bit more comfier, but it wasn't too big. but i seemed good. I cant compare for comfort because they were two different sanuk sandals. Which is an ideal fit? A perfect feet to slipper thing? Or a little bigger? Just wondering.

Flip flops are best a tad big, as you slip around in them. If they're a perfect fit you'll find your heels slide off the end, and they usually just get dirty. I always buy flip flops a size big. You don't want flippers, mind you. Give your foot a little slide room.
