How do you crimp the type crimp beads used on cord & ribbon?

I know how to crimp the round ones that go on the wire, but not sure how to crimp the ones that go on the cord or ribbon. The type that have one side open and has a hole to attach jump ring or lobster hook. Thanks,

All I ever use is a pair of jewellery pliers. Almost any kind of pliers will work as long as they aren't too large. Pinch the metal just enough to hold the cord and not too tight or it will actually flatten.
