What are the best shoes for me?

I need everyday shoes. I am horrible to my shoes because I really only keep one pair at a time. I had boots but now i need spring shoes. I want to be able to wear them with everything, tights, high socks, no socks, skirts, shoes blah blah blah you get the idea. Any suggestions or styles would be greatly appreciated especially if you have had the shoes before.
I understand flats but anything particular, like a good brand?
