Can anyone tell me how to sew on stuffed animal whiskers?

The whiskers on my son's black cat stuffed animal came right out. They look like thick black plastic fishing line type material. There are 3 pieces knotted in the middle. It looks like it was pulled through the face so they would stick out of the cheeks. I have no idea how to get them back in. Any suggestions?

You won't be able to get the same ones back in. They were done in a factory and not very well! They just poked them in, so eventually they fell out.

You may want to paint a little bit of fray check on the spots where the whiskers came out.

Thread a long length of embroidery thread onto a needle. Start it on one side and run it all the way through. Tie a knot next to the face on each side to anchor it. Do this as many times as you want for each pair of whiskers. Use some fabric stiffener from the craft store to make them stiff.
