Vintage diesel for 1959 Ford truck?

I have a 59 ford truck id like to put a diesel in. People tell me the 5.9 cummins would be cool in there, and i know it would, but i would like to do something more period correct. Does anyone know of an engine around 5 to 7 liters from that era,mid 50s to mid 70s? Caterpillar, cummins, perkins, international, even tractor engines, does anyone know of anything?

I would go with the Cummings Diesel Engine, it is the best there is, I have worked on the Cummings engine and have seen them run for 9 days before shutting down and then restart for another 9 days. Good luck and God bless you, Happy Hilidays.
