I do irish dance and wear one of the very long wigs. How can i put the wig on with a pixie haircut?

So I compete in Irish Dance and wear one of the very long wigs. I am getting a "pixie cut" for my hair soon. (think Keira Knightley short) How can I put the wig on with my hair that short?? Any ideas? Only answer if you know what you are talking about please! Thanks!!!

try to do a couple of pin curls. grab a small section of hair and twirl it in a circle and pin with two bobby pins in an X. try putting the wig comb through those.
also bring your wig with you to the hair salon and ask there for tips.
